Homework 3

- at least three positive, and at least 3 concerns about the potential of this technology

In emergencies, medical personnel will have easy access to your health data. You’ll never again have to worry about losing your wallet. And is roughly the size of a grain of rice, capable of containing various types of information. It is inserted under the skin and when scanned, the chip can provide information such as a person’s ID number linking to a database with more detailed information about the wearer. This is the same technology widely used in things like key cards. Also the chips have been implanted in animals for years to help identify lost pets and now the technology is moving to humans. In contrast the chips may make us prime targets for people with bad intentions, it could also could put your privacy at risk, and it's a nonstop potential connection to a body and it can’t turn it off, it can’t put it away, it’s in someone.

- add a paragraph with your thoughts on how this technology will proceed in the future - what do you think of it and what are your predictions, based in part on evidence in the articles your read

First implant was 1988 and it's just becoming a trend now in 2017, Back in 2004, “The Manchurian Candidate” suggested a future where humans are chipped and controlled showing that there were in fact predictions of this happening, i predict there are going to be a lot of flaws with this “trend” and it will eventually fall through. The “Biohackers” also predict the next generation of chips will save lives by monitoring health and fitness. For now, being chipped means never having to say you’re sorry you forgot your keycard but also that your information is easily hackable.
